Directions:

The A44 motorway runs east-west past the airport; the airport exit is well signposted. The A44 offers connections to the A52 to the north and to the A3 (north-south connection).

Transfer between the terminals:

Passengers can easily walk the short distances between the expanded main terminal and halls A, B and C. The Sky Train shuttle train runs between the airport station, the terminals and the parking lots.

Public transportation

Public transport – street:

Bus : The bus station is before the central arrival. Bus route 760 runs regularly to Ratingen city center. At trade fair events in Cologne, Düsseldorf and Essen, special bus routes run to the respective exhibition center.

The following lines run via the “Flughafen Verwaltung” stop, which is about a three-minute walk from the terminal: Line SB51 to Kaarst-Rathaus via Düsseldorf-Nordfriedhof, Meerbusch, line 721 to Tannenhof / Gothaer Weg via the main train station.

Another bus station is located at the “Düsseldorf Flughafen” train station. The following buses run to the airport station: Line 729 to Theodor-Heuss-Brücke (Düsseldorf-Golzheim), Line 759 to Ratingen Ost and Line 776 to Mercedesstraße (Düsseldorf-Derendorf).

Taxi : Taxi stands are in front of the arrival halls. A taxi ride to the center of Düsseldorf takes approx. 15 minutes (travel costs: trade fair approx. € 13, center approx. € 20). The official taxi companies include  Taxi-Düsseldorf (Tel: +49 211 33333; Internet: www.taxi-duesseldorf.com)  and Rhein-Taxi (Tel: +49 211 212 121; Internet: www.rheintaxi.de).

Public transport – train:

Rail : Over 350 trains stop every day at Düsseldorf Airport Station, which is directly connected to the German and European rail network. The fully automatic SkyTrain shuttle train shuttles between the airport station and the terminal building, with a stop at car park 4.

S-Bahn : The S11 light rail line runs between Düsseldorf Central Station and the airport. The light rail trains stop in the underground S-Bahn station of the terminal building. (Travel time from the airport to the city center of Düsseldorf: approx. 30 minutes.) Facilities in the terminal

Money:

There are two banks in the arrivals area. There are ATMs on the departure and arrival levels, at the “Düsseldorf Flughafen” train station and in the Airport Arkaden. Currency exchange offices are available in the departure and arrival areas.

Means of communication:

Wireless Internet access via W-LAN is possible throughout the airport, the first 30 minutes are free of charge. Public telephones can be found everywhere in the terminal and at the train station.

Gastronomy:

There are numerous restaurants, cafes and bars at the airport before and after the security area.

Shopping:

Over 70 shops are housed in the airport arcades of the new terminal building and open daily from early morning until late at night (different opening times between 3:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.). There is a shopping area for visitors and one for passengers.

Luggage:

A lost property office and luggage storage (open 24 hours) is located on the ground floor of car park 3 (Tel: 211 421 2515). The service numbers of the airlines for lost items are listed on the airport website. Porters offer their services (Tel: +49 211 421 6637).

Other facilities:

The airport has first aid facilities and a meeting point in the central arrival hall, a prayer room and pharmacies.

There are two travel markets (open from March to October from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., from November to February until 7 p.m.) with numerous travel agency branches and last-minute providers. There is a hairdressing salon in the airport arcades.

There is also a denomination-free memorial room on level 3 of the terminal.

A fear of flying (Internet: www.flugangsthilfe.de) (open Tue 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wed 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Sat 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) is on the first floor of Hall 5, to the right of the terminal A.

Lounges for First and Business Class passengers are located at Pier A (Lufthansa), B (Hugo Junkers Lounge – can be used by all passengers for a fee) and C (Air Berlin / LTU as well as Emirates and pen Sky Lounge).

You can pay with a Maestro / ec card at the airport petrol station.

Conference and meeting rooms:

The conference center DUS Conference Plus ( www.dus.com/de-de/businesspartner/businessstandort/konferenz-und-tagungen/dusconference-plus) offers 3000 square meters of workstations, conference and meeting rooms, boardrooms for small meetings and foyers for in the terminal Events.

At the airport, passengers have access to numerous business lounges, including the Hugo Junkers Lounge (Tel: +49 211 421 3712), which offers free Wi-Fi internet access.

The Maritim Hotel conference hotel also offers conference facilities and meeting rooms (Internet: http://www.maritim.de/de/hotels/deutschland/hotel-duesseldorf), which is directly connected to the terminal via a connecting bridge.

The Sheraton Airport Hotel (Tel: (0211) 417 30. Internet:  www.sheratonduesseldorfairport.com), located on the airport grounds, offers conference and meeting rooms for up to 230 people.

At the airport train station, the event and conference center Station Airport is available for up to 1,650 people (Tel: (0211) 42 17 15 02).

Accessibility facilities:

With the exception of the duty-free shop in departure C, the airport is easily accessible for disabled travelers and wheelchairs are available on request. Disabled passengers are asked to inform their airlines in advance of their specific needs. The low-floor shuttle buses at the airport are wheelchair accessible and make it easier for passengers with reduced mobility to get on and off. The SkyTrain cabins are also handicapped accessible. Drivers with a disability card can park for free anywhere, but it is recommended to access the P1 underground car park or the P2 and P3 car parks.

Parking spaces:

Numerous parking spaces and parking garages are available at the airport.

Pick-ups and drop-offs: Short-term parkers who want to take someone to departure use P11 directly before departure C.
Directly before arrival C, the P12 is available as a short-term parking space.

Short-term parking / terminal parking : P1 and P8 are underground garages that are located directly under the terminal building. P2, P3 are parking garages with direct access to the terminal halls. The walk from these parking garages / car parks to the terminal halls is only a few minutes. The airport hotel Maritim Hotel also has an underground car park. P7 is also a short-term parking lot with more than 3000 parking spaces and charging stations for electric cars.

Long-Term Parking: P4, P5, and P22 are long-term parking spaces that are a little further away. A total of 3000 cars can be parked in the new car park 5 (P5) on six levels and one outside area. P4 and P5 have connections to the SkyTrain. You should allow 10-15 minutes for the walk to the terminal halls. The long-term car parks P23, P24, P25 and P26 are a short distance from the terminal.

Long-term economy parking: Parking lot P23, which is a little further away from the terminal, offers long-term economy parking.

Payment can be made in cash or with a credit / debit card at the cash machines. A long-term parking card with an integrated chip can be used for P7, making payment and ticket drawing at the machine superfluous. Special security parking spaces are offered in car park 2, parking spaces can be reserved at Apcoa Autoparking GmbH (Tel: (0211) 421 66 37). Apcoa Autoparking also offers a range of parking services, including valet parking, car washing, and a repair and shopping service.

Airport guests can reserve parking spaces in one of the parking garages on the airport website until midnight on the evening before the planned departure.

Service parking: When registering this air park parking lot, the vehicles are picked up and parked directly by the service staff. There is a free shuttle connection to the airport.

Car rental:

The rental car counters of the following rental car companies are located in the central arrival hall:

The represented companies also have a central rental car center with a direct connection to the departure level of the terminal. The car keys are issued in the rental car offices of the terminal building, the collection and return of the vehicles takes place in the rental car center, where each company has its own level.
